LOCATION 2: Nevern Church
What to expect: This incredible and mysterious location a few miles from Newport, Pembs has a huge amount of mystery to explore. Ancient and marinaded in legend like St Govan this location is a 6th century church with ancient relics on site. The relic and history adventure is worth the drive alone. The Church and Church yard has been home to numerous sightings of a transparent white robed man, presumed to be a 6th century monk hung at the location. The ghosts of Children are said to play in the grave yard and a certain nursery rhyme is said to conjure them however we are not allowed to reveal the song at risk of legal action. A roman solider is said to walk the area which would fit in very nicely with an ancient artifact you can see at the site. Most people who are aware of Nevern will be aware of the Bleeding Yew. Yes, a tree that has bled for 600 years. The sap which is blood like in appearance is an oddity in itself in how it has bled for so long. DO NOT touch the sap of the tree as it is highly toxic and will probably kill you.
Probability of encounter: 60%. The tree you can see bleeding all the time but has a probable explanation however it makes for a great photograph. The monk has been seen several time over the years and the Roman has been seen in the last decade however try sitting in the Church yard at midnight and singing some nursery rhymes to increase your odds of an experience…if you dare!!!!
Location 3: Nevern Castle
What to expect: We have received some truly spine chilling reports from this 12th century castle. A family picnicking at this location heard screaming from under them! Other reports said that a man can be heard crying and sobbing from beneath the ground. is this the soul of some poor person trapped in a undiscovered dungeon? Chilling and disturbing!!! Another sighting is of a bearded man in 12th century gear wandering the grounds and disappearing. (He was described as having a “bra” on his head.)
Probability of encounter? 40%. The sightings seem to be more during the summer evenings and nights so hopefully you will be in for a scare. Do you dare take an evening picnic? Do you dare put your ear to the ground? What will you hear…lets hope that a decaying and rotten arm does not reach from the earth and try and grab you!!!
Location 4: The Pilgrims Cross. Nevern
What to expect: No sightings that we can find on record but if you are looking for probably the most mysterious location in Wales then it will be on this path. A cross is carved into an ancient wall. The cross is over a thousand years old and in the cave behind the wall is talks of great mysteries!! King Arthur, The Knight Templar and ancient mystics are all linked with this location with rumors and theories abound to what lies behind the wall: The cross used to crucify Christ, The Holy Grail and other priceless artifacts? Please do not smash the wall down!!!
Probability of encounter: 0% You might not see a ghost on this part of your journey but visiting the location may give you divine inspiration to solve the mystery behind the wall. Does the bleeding yew have a connection with what lies behind the wall? A great place for all aspiring Indiana Jones’s out there.
Location 5: St Mary’s Church, Haverfordwest
What to expect: At this location you may just see a Ghostly monk making his way through Haverfordwest. First seen in 1729 this mysterious figure leaves down the steps of St Mary’s and makes his way up Tower Hill. He then disappears into the road. This part of Haverfordwest is a paranormal hive of activity with many of the surrounding buildings having reports of strange supernatural activity. There is a great Ghost story connected to Tasker MIlward School that we can not publish but some of the pupils may be familiar with for this area. ( Listen to the TPCR: The Paranormal Chronicles radio podcast to see how this location will win you some cool prizes and a chance to join the team on an amazing paranormal adventure!)

Location 6: Priory Ruin, Haverfordwest
What to expect: Part 2 of the Haverfordwest monks journey through the town. The monk is said to be seen heading across the Rifleman’s filed and down Winch lane. He appears again at the entrance to Clay lane and walks down Union hill. Again he disappears into the pavement and re-appears at the bottom of the hill and turns into the wall and vanishes in a spot where there used to be a gate to the priory.
